Nothing beats eggs and bacon for breakfast, especially after LRagefesting. As a proper Southern Bro you know Waffle House is the de facto for you (early) morning breakfast needs, but from time to time you gotsta let your hair down and step on out there.
I've been in LR for 5+ years and I'm always searching for a new place to grub. A few friends have long been preaching the down home cooking at Ozark Country Cooking. It's up on Cantrell and Mississippi in a convenient spot for everyone in town. I went there Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised by it's friendly staff and delicious food.
The first thing I noticed was the packed parking lot. I think a rule of thumb is don't expect a spot or a table, cause both the parking lot and seating is cozy. Walking in you ate greeted by the aroma of bacon and gravy. The open air kitchen is the kind I like, 1 man per station. Henry Ford would be proud. Coffee was delivered promptly and I'd argue its the hottest in the city. Clank ordered an omelet loaded with meat and veggies whole I opted for grits and eggs. Mine was good but hell, it's hard to fuck up eggs. As for her omelet, we were both impressed. I had no idea it would come out with a bound of skillet roasted potatos. The omelet was thin and loaded with the fixings. All in all, we made happy plates.
Here's the bad part, I've never eaten more expensive eggs. Will I go back? Yes but I'm making momma buy.
Have a great place we should visit? Let us know, offer to buy us a drink, and we can probably make it happen.
You're opinion is probably wrong but leave a comment anyway.
